Operate flat-bed trucks, dump trucks, semi-tractors with trailers on interstate highways, two-lane public highways, narrow winding roads and small gravel-surfaced roads to transport materials, supplies and equipment to work sites. Operate various types of equipment including by not limited to tractors, backhoes, front-end loaders, skid steer loaders, and industrial type mowers. Have the ability to operate attachments such as cutting decks, brush hog, power auger, stump grinder and front end sweeper. Have the ability to carry out routine maintenance and daily checks on equipment and vehicles that are being operated. Have the capabilities to use welding and cutting equipment. All skills and equipment will be used to maintain and repair road and trail surfaces throughout the park on all terrains.
AREA INFORMATION: Ozark National Scenic Riverways is located in the southeastern portion of the state of Missouri on the Current and Jacks Fork Rivers. The duty station for this position is Shawnee Shop, near Eminence, Missouri. Limited shopping, medical and dental are available. For more shopping, medical, dental and entertainment Salem, Missouri, is approximately 40 miles north of Eminence. Summers are hot and humid and winters are normally mild.
Applicants must meet the qualification standards as specified in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Handbook X118C for the WG series. To be eligible for this position, you must possess the Ability to do the work of motor vehile operator without more than normal supervision (screen-out), and these other factors listed below.

1. Applicants must possess a valid state Class A commerical driver''s license (CDL). NOTE: Copy of your valid CDL license must be submitted with your application package or you will be considered ineligible.
2. New employees of the Department of the Interior must identify a financial institution for direct deposit of net pay.
3. NPS uniformed position. Employee will be required to wear a uniform and comply with National Park Service uniform standards.
4. Prior to appointment, the person selected for this position must be determined physically fit by an authorized physician to perform strenuous and physically demanding duties.

Method of rating will be Category based.
Category rating procedures will be used to rate and rank candidates.
Candidates will be ranked into 3 categories:
Category Group I (Best Qualified) - applicants possessing experience that substantially exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are highly proficient in all requirements of the job and can perform effectively in the position.
Category Group II (Well Qualified) - applicants possessing experience that exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in most of the requirements of the job.
Category Group III (Qualified) - applicants possessing experience that meets the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in some, but not all of the requirements of the job.
You will be evaluated based upon the responses you provide on the job specific questionnaire that is required as part of the application process for this position.
You will be rated based on your responses and assigned a score ranging from 70 to 100 points.
The scores will be used to determine the best qualified candidates who will be referred for selection. Best qualified applications rated with a score of 95 or above, will be referred to the selecting official.
